“To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.”
― Anatole France

In 1995, the Tree of Life Food Guide was created with the support of Chief Jacob Thomas. We wanted to teach the importance of food as our sacred medicine and we give our thanks to the Creator through our ceremonies. Six Nations Health Services has promoted our traditional foods throughout the community.

National Resource Center to Enhance Safety of Native Women and their Children

In 2016, Cindy joined the Speakers Bureau at the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center (NIWRC). She expresses the importance of ending sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking for all.

Cindy speaks on support for women and girls in the four areas of wellness; physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Some specific areas are ceremony, music, nutrition, exercise and indigenous community health approaches. Promote the traditional health model of the Haudenosaunee, referred to as the “Reconnection Journey through the Tree Rings” – for training, advising and mentoring to help women recover, rebuild and reclaim self.

Speaking

Overcoming challenges in my life, I have helped myself become a stronger person than I was before I met those challenges.

I am here to help you find personalized ways for you to over come stress. In my difficult times, becoming more active with the Aka:we Canoe Club, was very good for me. They offer various boats and activities such as the paddle boards that you can try. What our goal will be is to return you to a holistic and healthy state, where you were once before. Valueing your life is the start to help prevent chronic illnesses... "My Health is My Life".

Mentoring

I have been an adviser to many people in many areas. I believe having dreams to pursue is apart of our purpose in life. Whether your interests are learning a new skill or developing your talent, you have to give yourself a chance to try. But dedication and commitment to self is very important when it comes to focusing on your dreams. We all have a purpose...believe in yourself.
"As my family and friends have mentored me, it is important for me to share my knowledge and skills with others. We are meant to experience life filled with happiness, health and hope."
